The Singaporean company The Parentinc has acquired Motherswork, a local retailer of baby products, in a move to expand their offline presence in Southeast Asia. The acquisition will see Motherswork playing a pivotal role in developing The Parentinc's offline presence by opening additional locations in strategic areas.

Founded in 1998 by Sharon Wong, Motherswork currently has ten locations in China and two in Singapore. The Parentinc, which operates the parenthood website theAsianparent, aims to leverage Motherswork's omnichannel stores to further their reach in the region.

Aside from the acquisition of Motherswork, The Parentinc also owns the direct-to-consumer brand Mama's Choice, which produces and sells halal household goods, nursing supplies, infant care items, and pregnancy aids. The company's CEO, Roshni Mahtani Cheung, emphasized the importance of offline retail in the region, with plans to distribute Mama's Choice exclusively through Motherswork locations in Vietnam.

With the recent acquisition of Motherswork, The Parentinc is solidifying its position in the Southeast Asian market and expanding its offline presence through strategic retail expansion. This move aligns with the company's goal to cater to the needs of parents and families in the region, offering a comprehensive range of products and services through both online and offline channels.
