Seraya Partners Closes $800M Fund for Digital Infrastructure and Energy Transitions

Seraya Partners, an independent private equity fund in Singapore, has closed its first fund, the $800 million 'Seraya Partners Fund I,' exceeding its $750 million goal. The Asia-focused fund, supported by global institutional investors, focuses on next-gen infrastructure with an emphasis on energy transition and digital infrastructure platforms, contributing to the region's net-zero goals.

The fund, with limited partners including Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and Blackrock-managed funds, aims to bridge the trillion-dollar infrastructure gap in Asia. Seraya Partners has made initial investments in companies like Empyrion DC, Cyan Renewables, and Astrid Renew, addressing supply and demand gaps in energy transition and digital infrastructure.

Empyrion DC, Asia's first green data center operator, focuses on energy-efficient, renewable-powered data centers. Cyan Renewables specializes in offshore wind farm vessels, and Astrid Renew develops solar, wind, and energy storage technologies. Seraya Partners leverages its operator experience to actively participate in platform ownership, growth, and expansion.

With a commitment to reducing infrastructure bottlenecks and using cutting-edge technologies, AIIB sees its investment in Seraya Partners as aligned with its mission. The fund aims for mid- to high-teen returns by navigating the fragmented and complex infrastructure market in Asia.
