KKR Invests $800M for 20% Stake in Singtel's Regional Data Center Business

Singtel, the Singapore-based communications technology group, and KKR, the US-based investment firm, have agreed to a deal where KKR will invest $800 million for a 20% stake in Singtel's regional data center business.

The investment values Singtel's data center business at $4.03 billion and includes an option for KKR to increase its stake to 25% by 2027.

This partnership aims to accelerate the expansion of Singtel's data center business across ASEAN markets and explore new opportunities in Malaysia and other regions.

The transaction is part of Singtel's strategy to tap into the growing data center industry in Southeast Asia, which is expected to see significant growth driven by increased data consumption, cloud adoption, and AI applications.
