Golden Gate Ventures Expands Global Footprint with First MENA Office in Saudi Arabia

Singapore-based venture capital fund, Golden Gate Ventures, has inaugurated its first regional office in Saudi Arabia to strengthen ties and catalyze growth in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) startup landscape. The move aligns with the strategic partnership between Singapore and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing commerce, investment, renewable energy, and the digital economy.

Founding Partner Vinnie Lauria emphasizes Golden Gate Ventures' pioneering approach, citing their role in Singapore and Vietnam's startup ecosystems. The MENA office, led by senior advisor Hussain Abdullah and general partner Abdulrahman Al-Qahtani, marks a strategic expansion to capitalize on evolving opportunities in the region.

Golden Gate Ventures, with over a decade of experience, aims to enhance the MENA entrepreneurial corridor, collaborating with local talent, universities, and investors. The firm's global initiatives include coaching MENA founders, hosting events, and participating in the GCC startup scene since 2018.

As the company facilitates the MENA region's development, its robust portfolio, including Xendit, AngelList, and Stripe, reflects a history of fostering successful startup ecosystems, with over 90 investments, two IPOs, and nine unicorns.
